The Windows and Linux applications tend to use two different web servers. Windows sites using the Windows IIS server, while using almost all Linux-Apache-sites.

Sites focus on Linux, PHP, Perl and other scripting languages, open source scripts on the server side. Windows-based websites with NET and ASP technology. It could also support for PHP.

Sites offer Linux as the MySQL database to store content in the background. The websites can deliver Windows SQL Server, although some offer versions of MySQL, Windows.

There should be no difference between the two if you only use Web standards in your HTML code. However, you must be aware that Dreamweaver can be a product only under Windows, you do not include standard things in your HTML code. Home does too.

As long as you are at recognized standards and will not use hardware-based Windows on your site, you should have no problem with any of them.
